Case Study Partnership

Showcase your success through a case study

At Bond University, we offer businesses the opportunity to collaborate with our academic experts to develop comprehensive case studies. These studies highlight your business achievements, innovative solutions, and the challenges you've overcome, serving as valuable educational resources and enhancing your brand's credibility.

What is a case study?

A case study is a detailed narrative or analysis that explores real-world challenges, strategies, and outcomes within an organisation. These studies serve as powerful teaching resources, helping students bridge the gap between theory and practice. Case studies delve into decision-making processes, problem-solving approaches, and lessons learned, offering invaluable insights across diverse fields such as business, law, healthcare, and more.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises: Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC)

This case was written with support from Domino’s Board Chair Mr Jack Cowin, CEO Mr Don MEij, and CFO Richard Coney, who served as the ‘protagonist’. The case was set during COVID when the company was planning substantial investments in response to the World Health Organization’s recommendations. This case has been a favourite with MBA students worldwide who were tasked with putting themselves in Mr Coney’s shoes. They understand the need to use judgement beyond putting numbers into a formula understanding that a few per cent difference could mean a swing in millions of dollars in expenditures. To date, the Domino’s WACC case has been used in 28 different countries, demonstrating the strong global interest in Australian cases.

Minjungbal Museum and Cultural Centre: Revitalisation of an Australian Treasure

This was the first in Bond’s Indigenous Business Case Initiative made possible through the support of Mr Derek Murphy. Dr Vishal Mehrotra’s Strategic Marketing course ‘adopted’ this indigenous museum for the capstone course, and his students spent twelve weeks creating marketing plans for this Native business. This case was an excellent learning experience for Bond students, and it has already been used by students in Australia, Canada, and the Philippines.

How the partnership works

Cost and funding

There is a fee, which supports the research, writing, editing, and dissemination of the case study. The fee covers the entire development process, including the creation of additional teaching materials such as instructor guides, multimedia resources, and interactive components, all designed to enhance the learning experience. These resources are carefully crafted to ensure that the case study provides maximum value, facilitating deeper engagement and understanding for all participants.

Time commitment

The time required for case study development depends on its complexity. It typically involves a few hours for interviews, sharing background documents, reviewing drafts, and providing feedback. Your primary role will be to collaborate with the University’s researchers or writers, sharing insights and ensuring the case study accurately reflects your organisation’s story.

Confidentiality and approval

The case writer may need access to select company files, which will be handled with the utmost confidentiality. You will have the opportunity to review and approve the final version of the case study before publication. Any sensitive information can be disguised or omitted to ensure your comfort and confidence in the shared material.
