BUFTA Roadshow 2025

Bringing the magic of filmmaking to you!

Lights, camera, action! The BUFTA Roadshow is hitting the road again in 2025, bringing the excitement of filmmaking directly to high schools across Australia. This exclusive workshop series, hosted by the Bond University Film and Television Academy (BUFTA), offers students and teachers the chance to learn from industry experts and senior Bond academics - right in their own classroom.

Designed to give high school students a deeper understanding of the film and television industry, the BUFTA Roadshow focuses on developing essential techniques and skills to enhance students’ work. These workshops will also provide valuable insights and guidance to help prepare for a successful entry into the BUFTA competition.

Key dates and regions

In 2025, the BUFTA Roadshow will travel to five regions across Australia, bringing the world of filmmaking directly to high schools and providing a hands-on experience for students and teachers.

These interactive workshops will be hosted by two of our BUFTA Roadshow experts including, Head of Film, Screen and Creative Media, Dr Darren Paul Fisher and Senior Teaching Fellow of Film, Screen and Creative Media, Chris Boyd. With extensive industry experience and a passion for nurturing the next generation of filmmakers, they will guide students through essential filmmaking techniques, storytelling strategies, and competition insights.

Below, you can explore the session topics available at each Roadshow destination, allowing you to tailor the experience to focus on key areas of filmmaking that will best engage and benefit your students.
