Bond University College is seeking to appoint an innovative, motivated Academic Teacher with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to contribute to the teaching effort of Bond University College.

Academic Teachers are required to work within Bond University College policies and procedures, ensuring that the quality of teaching delivery is of the highest standard. In addition, academic teachers participate in professional development and contribute to professional activities relating to their profession/discipline.

This position would be required to conduct lectures, tutorials, supervised study skills, sessions, workshops practical classes and other appropriate learning activities as required. Academic Teachers perform subject co-ordination duties including regular feedback on subjects in need of update and/or revision and contribute to the effectiveness of teaching and learning. In addition, they also prepare and mark assignments and exams and make themselves available for regular and effective consultation with students. 

 

About the person

An academic teacher will report to the Academic Co-ordinator and have the following:

  • Minimum 4 years of tertiary study or equivalent (e.g., Bachelor with Honours, Bachelor and Master’s, or Bachelor and Graduate Diploma).
  • 2 years’ relevant teaching experience, including with non-English speaking backgrounds.
  • Experience in innovative teaching methods, enhanced with technology (Postgraduate qualifications desirable).
  • Strong teaching skills and commitment to students, learning, and cultural awareness.
  • Efficient handling of administrative tasks and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and time-management skills.
  • Experience working with multi-cultural backgrounds and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Teaching experience in History, Communication, Media Studies, Society, and Culture will be highly regarded.

 

Salary details

The salary for the position commences at $90,752.21 plus 11.5% superannuation per annum. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
