The clinical Bull Sharks turned it on in a QFA Demolition while in the QAFLW, the girls outmuscled Coorparoo in a wet weather arm wrestle.
It was a terrific weekend for Bond’s AL program as the QFA side delivered a commanding four-quarter performance to crush Beenleigh by 127 points on the road.
Meanwhile, up at Coorparoo, a dominant display in the contest and impressive composure under pressure saw the Bull Sharks beat a more experienced Coorparoo side in challenging conditions.

How it was won
From the outset the players were absolutely dialled in and scored repeatedly. The coaching staff and leadership group did a fantastic job ensuring there was no complacency. The standards remained high which was showcased early as we piled on eight unanswered goals.
What made you happy
I’m happy with every quarter apart from a short period in the 3rd term where the team lacked the pressure we had shown all day. The effort and team discipline was of the highest order for every minute thereafter.

The way the team played was exactly the way we have played up to this point in the season. It was so enjoyable seeing the team work so hard for each other and get the rewards for that effort.
The work on
There is always work to do particularly around making sure we keep applying scoreboard pressure. We kick a lot of points as a team, the positive is we get many opportunities to score although we must convert, particularly against better opposition.
Trademark players
Students Jed Kowald, Miles Enders and Jack Avage managed to stand out in what was an incredible team effort across the board.

How it was won
It was won in the contest we were plus 30 for contested ball. The conditions were wet and muddy so our composure under pressure was really great.
What made you happy
I’m really happy with how we stood up against a far more experienced and physical team. We were able to play with real composure, and we weren’t intimated by their physicality.
Bull Sharks Footy
Our brand of footy has been based on team defence and defensive shape and structure. That allows us to slingshot on offence which we did really well. The quality of our inside 50 entries were far superior to that of our oppositions based on our defensive shape.
The work on
The work to do is testing ourselves next round against the best team in the competition which is reigning premiers Southport. So, we need to see if our game plan and structures stand up against the QAFLW’s benchmark and if we can survive the opposition pressure.
Trademark players
Skye White, our tall defender was never beaten in a one-on-one contest and swept the ball away out of our defence. Shannon Nolan in the midfield has been our most consistent player across the first three games of the season, she been excellent in and around stoppages and continues to win a lot of the ball. Lexi Samuels on a wing played her best game for the club. Abbey Bevan kicked three of our four goals and played well under pressure.
