The Family Law Clinic enables law students, during their degree, to volunteer their time to gain practical insight and experience in Family Law.
The Clinic is a collaboration between Bond University’s Faculty of Law and a law firm located in Bundall on the Gold Coast. Students will volunteer on a weekly basis during a semester, under the supervision of experienced family lawyers.
Gain invaluable hands-on experience in Family law by assisting in providing advice to clients, preparing file notes, drafting correspondence and preparing court documents.

Who can apply?
Students must demonstrate the following:
- Currently enrolled at Bond University in a law degree program, either an LLB or JD;
- Completion of at least 3 semesters is preferred;
- Well-considered reasons for interest in the Clinic;
- Ability to work in a team, and communicate with colleagues;
- Ability to work autonomously and efficiently;
- Evidence of research and writing skills as well as demonstrated organisational ability.
- Ability to sustain an ongoing commitment to the Clinic for one semester;
- High level of English communication skills – written and oral;

What does it entail?
Typically, student volunteers will:
- Assist lawyers at the law firm with Family Law matters by preparing file notes, drafting correspondence, drafting court documents and conducting legal research
- Gain additional opportunities to learn about practice management and administration requirements applicable to law firms.
