Applying for credit

Applying for credit

If you’ve studied a related degree at a higher education institution, such as another university, TAFE, or a private college or tertiary provider, you may be eligible for credit (also known as advanced standing) towards your program at Bond University. This means you’ll still reap the rewards of your successfully completed subjects, decreasing your study load and ensuring you don’t ‘double up’ on taking equivalent subjects you have already passed.

If you plan on applying for credit, the process – like our other application processes – is simple and streamlined. Learn whether you are eligible, and discover how to apply for credit below.

  • There are a few key criteria we look for when approving credit. Your application must be based on a subject or subjects from a recognised higher education institution, and you must have received a pass or better, which should be noted on your academic transcript. It is also important that the subject is equivalent in level, content, duration and style to the Bond University course you are applying for credit into.

  • To ensure you receive credit ahead of commencing your degree, submit your complete application as early as possible. Applications submitted at least one month prior to the start of your first semester are guaranteed to receive an outcome.

  • To apply for credit, you’ll need to provide a copy of the approved subject outlines for the year you successfully completed the subjects. You must include:

    • a detailed list of weekly topics covered in the subject
    • the size and duration of the subject (e.g., three hours per week for 15 weeks)
    • the prescribed textbook/s and recommended readings
    • any assessment requirements for the subject
    • authorised translation if the transcript and subject outlines are not in English
  • Book a personalised consultation with our Future Student Advisors who can help support you with your application to apply for credit. Connect with us your way – virtually or on campus.
