Orientation

Welcome to Bond University, and welcome to your Library!

If you haven't visited our lovely campus yet, watch the Library tour video below to take a virtual walk through some of the spaces.

Look for our how-to videos throughout the website and in Library Search. We try to put the videos where you might need them to refresh your memory or get started.

Remember, the Library is here to support you throughout your time at Bond.

Please get in touch at any time.  An easy way to contact is through online chat. The Chat buttons are on our website, Library Research Guides and Library Search, so it's easy to start chatting.

Online chat is available during most business hours.

If you missed out on a tour of the libraries in orientation week, check out the virtual tour below.

You can always ask our team at the service desks for help on where to find things in the libraries.

If you are looking for items on the shelf, Library Search has map it buttons which display a floor plan to direct you to the right level and row of shelving.

Textbooks

The first question most keen new students often ask is "Where can I get my textbooks?"

You can borrow textbooks from the Library's Reserve Collections. Many textbooks have eBook access provided by the Library. Shelf locations and links are usually on a Resource List in your iLearn subject site.

Not all subjects have prescribed textbooks - look at your subject outline to check. Subject outlines can be found in your subject's iLearn site or on the University website.

Search for your subject

Check the edition and title details when buying secondhand textbooks. You don't want to pay for a book that is not the set textbook.

Check the FAQs for all the details.

Your library account

All students and staff have a library account in Library Search. You can use your account to:

  • Borrow items - automatic renewals if items are not requested
  • Place requests:
    • click & collect
    • scanned articles or chapters
    • loans from other libraries
  • Save records and searches
  • Monitor due dates of loans, and the status of any requests
